If you're not sure where to start when it comes to learning how to crochet, look no further! TOFT's starter pack boxes are the perfect place to begin your journey into the craft, and come with everything you need to complete your first project.
Packed into your 'Learn to Crochet' box is enough yarn to make one animal of your choice, and you'll receive the digital .pdf patterns for two of our best-selling beginner animals – Emma the Bunny and Bridget the Elephant. As you learn the basics of the double crochet stitch you can join the countless members of the TOFT community who have learnt to crochet with these patterns. Inside you'll also find 25g of Black DK yarn that can be used as eye threads, a selection of crochet hooks, top quality toy stuffing, a handy tool to check your tension and a wool needle to sew your animal up once you've finished.
You can select your colour of yarn from our palette of natural colours, which can be used to make any of the patterns in Edward's Menagerie if you do have a copy of the book (sold separately). If you would like to make Emma the Bunny, we recommend our 'Stone' shade and Bridget the Elephant is crocheted in 'Steel'.
Alongside the pattern downloads, you'll find lots of step-by-step instructions to help you learn all the crochet stitches and techniques you'll need to make your animal. There is plenty of online help too, with YouTube video tutorials that cover everything from how to read your pattern to stuffing and sewing up your animal once you've finished crocheting it. You can share your progress with the TOFT community on Instagram @toft_uk using the #edsanimals hashtag.
Once you have completed your first animal, you'll want to move straight on to the next one! We recommend purchasing the Edward's Menagerie book by Kerry Lord, which contains 50 crochet animal patterns – available separately.

You will receive the patterns for Emma the Bunny and Bridget the Elephant digitally in .pdf format. You can download this from a link that will appear at the bottom of your order confirmation email and in your MY TOFT library. You can log in and re-download the pattern at your convenience.
MEASUREMENTS: When finished your animal will be approximately 26cm tall from feet to top of head.
