Silo the Chinstrap Penguin

Silo the Chinstrap Penguin is a much-loved member of the menagerie at TOFT! With his distinctive band of black feathers under his chin, he represents the most abundant penguin in the Antarctic regions. This bird goes diving for food at night and forms a strong bond once it finds a mate, returning to the same nest site each year.

This cute crochet project forms part of our Edward's Menagerie collection of amigurumi crochet toys designed by Kerry Lord. This amigurumi crochet animal kit contains our luxurious pure wool DK yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern with video links for all the techniques.

THIS KIT CONTAINS: 100g of TOFT's luxury DK pure wool in the colours of your choice.

The crochet pattern is provided digitally in .pdf format. You can download this from a link that will appear at the bottom of your order confirmation email and in your MY TOFT library. You can log in and re-download the pattern at your convenience.

YOU WILL NEED: To complete your Chinstrap Penguin you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing, Black yarn for facial features and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section or upgrade to a complete kit which includes all of the above!

MEASUREMENTS: When finished your Penguin will be approximately 18cm tall from feet to top of head.

SKILL LEVEL 3: This kit is more suitable for those with some crochet experience.

IT WILL TAKE: Approximately 1-5 hours crochet time.
