Charlie the Crane joined the menagerie in 2020 as a special kit designed by Kerry Lord for Lincolnshire's Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum, a landmark UK site for any RAF fans. The bird is a nod to the RAF College Cranwell Crest, which features three cranes, and also to the de Cranewell family crest in which cranes also appear. There are 15 species of crane in the world today, the tallest being the sarus crane which can grow up to almost six feet tall!

This crochet bird kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy. YOU WILL NEED: To complete your crochet bird you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section or upgrade to a complete kit which includes all of the above!
MEASUREMENTS: When finished your Crane will be approximately 25cm tall from feet to top of head.
SKILL LEVEL 2: This kit is suitable for enthusiastic beginners or those who have crocheted before.
