Did you know that the purple emperor butterfly is native to the UK, as well as being the second largest of its kind in the country with males growing as big as a small bird. If you're lucky enough to see one in the wild, they can be found in oak woodland – but this TOFT version won't flutter away once it's found its way into your home.

YOU WILL NEED: To complete your Purple Emperor Butterfly you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section or upgrade to a complete kit which includes all of the above!
MEASUREMENTS: When finished your Butterfly will be approximately 17cm long from antennae to end of abdomen and with a 26cm wingspan.
