Say hello to Esmeralda the Cinnabar Moth! With her bright and vibrant colours, she is the perfect beginner project for anyone looking to learn the double crochet stitch. Did you know that cinnabar moths are often mistaken for butterflies, but their bright colours are actually a warning to predators that they are poisonous – which is a side effect of them eating ragwort plants as caterpillars. They are predominantly nocturnal but can also be spotted during the day in open grassy habitats. Luckily for you, this woolly version can come out at any time of day and won't fly away!
This cute crochet project forms part of the ever-expanding Edward's Menagerie collection of amigurumi crochet toys designed by Kerry Lord. This amigurumi crochet kit contains our luxurious pure wool DK yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern with video links for all the techniques.
