Orlando the Roseate Spoonbill first joined the TOFT flock in 2018 as an instalment of our Birds Club crochet subscription and is a perfect crochet pattern for any enthusiastic beginners who are looking to expand their skills. Originally the colour used to crochet this bird's deep pink legs and plumage was hand-dyed especially for this design, and many years later a similar shade has joined TOFT's DK spectrum as 'Raspberry'. Similar to flamingos, these spoonbills' colouring is influenced by their diet.
TOFT’s Edward’s Menagerie collection is a series of crochet amigurumi toys designed by Kerry Lord. This crochet bird kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy. Share your progress with the TOFT community on Instagram @toft_uk using the #edsanimals hashtag.
